This course is reserved for District Alternative Certification Program participants.  This course has both in person and live virtual meetings. Sessions 1 and 2 - Saturday - (1-4 for evening classes) are in person.

 

This course will provide Alternative Certification Program teachers with an introduction to various characteristics of exceptional learners, emphasizing the most current research and classroom practices. Various historical, legal, psychological and sociological perspectives will be shared along with current theory and practice in today's classrooms. Topics will also introduce and enhance knowledge of strategies, procedures, accommodations and processes that will support students with special needs, at all grade levels.
