This SELF-PACED Canvas Course serves to provide a brief OVERVIEW of the Flamingo Literacy Small Group Instruction model from the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning. Participants must complete all the course content by December 21, 2023 in order to be marked complete for the course in PDS.
Through this course, participants will develop an understanding of the individual steps within this model as well as the similarities and differences to past instructional models used in HCPS. This course is intended for VPK-3rd grade ELA teachers, teacher leaders, coaches, and administrators. For a deeper understanding of this model, participants should register for a seat in the 40-hour HCPS Flamingo Literacy Institute.
This course does not qualify for explicit reading points towards recertification.
