Welcome to the HCPS Literacy Symposium's Flamingo Science of Reading learning track! Teachers in grades 3-5 can register for a special learning track during the HCPS Literacy Symposium with the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning. This track will focus on building educator knowledge of the key research findings on how to teach reading effectively as well as deepening understanding of the five major domains of reading through the Lastinger Center’s Literacy Playbooks. Participants will also attend all the keynote speaker sessions for the Literacy Symposium and receive materials for implementation.
Audience: 3rd-5th Grade Literacy Teachers

Breakout Sessions: This cohort will attend all breakout sessions with the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning.
Location: Chamberlain High School Auditoium (keynote speakers) & Cafeteria (Flamingo SoR breakout sessions)
Reminders:
- Participants in this track must attend all three days of the Literacy Symposium with the Flamingo Science of Reading cohort.
- Charter school employees are not eligible for this course.
- Participants in this cohort will not register for separate days of the event.
- Workshop pay for 18 hours at $15 per hour is available for eligible employees.
