ENROLLMENT BY INVITATION ONLY - This 15-week, 60-hour online course is to provide teachers of adult ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) students, with professional development focused on andragogy (the teaching of adults) and TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) theory and methodology. For a minimum of 4 hours per week (60 hours total) participants will watch videos, read articles, participate in discussions, plan lessons, and apply strategies to daily instruction, while collectively building a community of teaching practice. Participants will receive 45 inservice credits for this component of the training and 15 inservice credits for the live meetings. Participants who are signed-up for this course must also be concurrently signed-up for the live meeting component of this training on PDS. By the end of the course, participants will have developed a more reflective and informed practice of how to support oneself, peers, and adult ESOL students.
